Area 51 Wah
Sound Samples
The following sound clips are in mp3 format.
This clip was recorded by Takashi Matsumura of New Orleans, LA. The guitar tracks feature Takashi playing a PRS McCarty through his Area 51 Wah (standard). It's a rather large mp3 file (3.3 MB), but well worth the download time. Enjoy.
Performed by Jack Zucker of Cleveland, Ohio. Jack has a number of clips on youtube that feature the Area 51 Wah. He is using the "Classic" version here (no optional controls). Jack is the author of Sheets of Sound for Guitar, a series of instructional books. File size: 1.9MB
Also from Jack Zucker, this one also demonstrates his Area 51 "Classic" Wah. Other equipment used included: Grosh Strat, Dimarzio "Area 51" pickups (cool name, Dimarzio!) , Ceriatone ots amp, 2x12 cab with greenbacks. File size 2.0MB
This sample of the Area 51 Wah was recorded by Wayne Eagles,
using a G&L Legacy w/ DiMarzio Virtual 2 pickups - going into the Area 51 wah -
then into a Hiwatt & V30-loaded 2x12 cabinet. Wayne's wah has the Q
and Growl controls - which were maxed out for this sample. Wayne is a
super-talented guitarist, who's style crosses many genres. He has a few
CD's out, which are available on his website. File size: 518
KB.
Also recorded by Wayne Eagles, this clip features the same gear used in sample 1, but with an overdriven tone. The settings on the wah are more conservative - with the Q and Growl controls rolled off a bit. File size: 664 KB
This is a clip from the song "Shame shame" by the great Texas blues/rock band, Crash Landing. It features Rick "Chainsaw" Turnpaugh soloing with his Fender Stratocaster, into his Vintage Italian Wah Kit (drop in) - modified Crybaby "Copper" wah. He's playing it through a Kendrick Gig Rig amplifier. Rick's wah is the "straight-up, no frills" version of the VIWK. Their CD can be purchased on the Crash Landing Website, or at Texas Music Roundup. If you dig good ol' Texas boogie woogie - check these guys out! To hear the full version of this song, go HERE. File size of this sample: 1.02 MB
This one is for you metal fans! It comes to you courtesy of Paul Bento in NYC. Paul is a fabulous guitarist (multi instrumental, actually) who's talents have been featured on albums by Type O Negative, among others. His band, Metal Health Association, kicks butt. He has also taken the lead gtr slot with resurrected NYC legends, Carnivore. Go HERE to check out a promo video of Paul's band, Metal Health Association. This sample features Paul with drummer Keith DeMary. Paul is playing a Schecter guitar with DiMarzio pickups, Area 51 Wah, Analog Man Clone Chorus, Skreddypedals "Zero" fuzz pedal, through a 100 watt Carvin Valve Master. This little tune is called "3 Buzzed Lice"..... File size: 1.78 MB
This sample comes from Carl Fiadino in NY. Carl is using his Deluxe Area 51 Wah - all options.
